Director, Awards & Recognition

Eve Sweeting, MBA, SHRM-CP, PHR

  Bio:  Eve Sweeting, HR Analyst with Charlotte County Board of County Commissioners, has over a decade of experience as an HR professional in private and public sector organizations. Her current duties include performance management, succession planning, and workforce metrics. She holds an MBA from Florida Gulf Coast University and an MA in Adult Education with a concentration in Human Resource Development from the University of South Florida. Eve is an active member in the HR community having served on the board of Charlotte County SHRM for five years including a term as President in 2012, and completing a two year term on SHRM’s Young Professional Advisory Council (YPAC) in 2013-2014. She is also a proud volunteer for many organizations in her community including Charlotte County Young Professionals, Leadership Charlotte, and Meals on Wheels.

Troy Clements, SHRM-CP, PHR

Bio:  For nearly 20 years, Troy, a Certified HR professional, has partnered with organizations to increase likeability and loyalty within the talent base.  Seeking to understand the employee voice and employee input, he helps companies develop cultures to ensure all voices are heard.  He LOVES change and is excited to walk with organizations through the process.  He served as an HR Florida Conference volunteer from 2012-16 and co-chaired the Volunteer Team in 2017-18.

Dana Mullins, MBA, SHRM-SCP, SPHR


Bio: Dana Mullins has over 25 years of experience as an HR Professional in various industries, to include city government, international shipping and financial services.  She is currently the SVP/Chief People Officer at Pen Air Federal Credit Union, where she serves as the HR strategic partner on the Executive Team.  Dana has a BS in Psychology from the University of Florida and an MA in industrial/organizational psychology from the University of West Florida.  She is an active member of the Greater Pensacola SHRM Chapter and has served on the HR FL State Council as District Director, District 1 for 4 years, serving as Leadership Conference Chair for 2 of those years.  Dana also serves on her local workforce board (CareerSource Escarosa) as an officer.  Currently, Dana holds the role of Council Operations Chair.

Eduardo Safille, JD, LLM, SHRM-CP, PHR, MBTI

  Bio:  Eduardo is Vice President of Talent Management at Arc Broward, a tremendous non-profit that provides opportunities for people with disabilities and other life challenges to realize their full potential.  Eduardo also teaches a graduate level Employee Relations course in Florida International University's Master of Science in Human Resource Management program (ranked #1 MSHRM program by  Eduardo serves as President of HR Association of Broward County for the 2019 year

Michele Burns

  Bio:  Michele Burns started her new career at CareerSource Okaloosa Walton as Executive Director in April of 2017.  She previously was in staffing in the Okaloosa –Walton area for over 28 years.  Michele is a native of Okaloosa County and holds a Marketing Degree from the University of West Florida.  Michele has been active in many community events and organizations.  She currently is the Facilities Director for the HR Florida State Board, Diversity Chair for the Emerald Coast Chapter of Society of Human Resources, Vice President of the Okaloosa Public Schools Foundation, Elks Lodge 1795, Early Learning Coalition, Northwest Florida Manufacturing, Opportunity Florida, Co-Chair of Northwest Florida Forward Talent Committee and member of the Panhandle Job Fair.

Jacquie Brooks, SHRM-SCP, SPHR

Bio: Jacquie Brooks, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, is the Director of Human Resources at S.I. Goldman Company, Inc., and holds a leadership role with her organization. She has over 25 years of experience in the intelligence, engineering, consulting, and natural gas industries. Her diverse professional background includes work in technology where she supervised software engineers, developed proprietary software, and analyzed data; in accounting as a Controller; and as a Paralegal.

Jacquie began her tenure with the HR Florida Council as Conference Registrar before moving into the Council Registrar role. Her previous volunteer roles include Membership Director, Treasurer, and Secretary of her local chapter, the Greater Orlando Society for Human Resources Management (GOSHRM). She also serves as a mentor for GOSHRM and the Employer’s Association Forum (EAF).

Jim Gallo, Ph.D, SPHR, SHRM-SCP

Bio:  Jim Gallo isan Organizational Psychologist and HR professional. With 20+ years of leadership experience as a senior executive and management consultant in the field of Human Resources . Jim has worked both within organizations as a senior executive leading multi state operations as well as an external consultant providing customized solutions to organizations. Currently he consults with organizations primarily within the field of HR and OD. Jim also teaches various graduate and undergraduate classes often combining his street theater and improv background into the curriculum. Jim currently serves Research Director for HR Florida State Council.

Lorena Pabon, MHSA, SHRM-SCP


Bio: Lorena Pabon, MHSA, SHRM-CP works as a Human Resources Generalist for National Airlines based in Orlando, Florida. In 2014 she graduated from University of Puerto Rico with a BBA majoring in Human Resources Management and a minor in Corporate Communication in English and Spanish. By 2017 she had pursued her Masters Degree in Health Services Administration at Rollins College in Winter Park, FL.

Lorena has been involved with SHRM since 2011 first as a student and later became part of the Greater Orlando SHRM chapter board of directors in 2018 as their Membership Director. She is currently holding the role of College Relations Director, in which she gets to support student chapters in local universities. She became a SHRM Certified Professional in May 2018 and has continued to pursue her passion for HR through writing and social media. Later in 2018 she co-founded her blog: The Future of HR where she shares her personal experiences and insights from a young professional's perspective.

Whenever she's not doing anything HR related, Lorena enjoys discovering new places and traveling. She fully lives by the quote "To travel is to live".

Jeri Dembrak, HCS, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, CEBS, M.Ed.


Bio: Jeri is a certified global business strategist & partner who understands the ROI of creating a healthy, engaged culture by embracing, engaging & empowering talent with the tools & resources to continually improve their personal & professional competencies.  This leads to organizational effectiveness & productivity while constantly improving the employment & customer experiences.  Crediting her experience at Sedgwick in B2B consulting, she founded her business, The Benefits Translators, Inc., originally a translation company specializing in employee benefits & open enrollment meetings.  It grew into an HR portfolio consulting business that conducts projects to analyze an organization from the guest or customer, vendor & employee perspectives to create a 360 of the organization – the good, the bad and the ugly and how you move the needle.  She was hired at Accor Hotels during both cultural & digital transformations & a merger & acquisition to support North & Central America & the Caribbean because of her experience as a consultant in the hotel industry but also as a customer who had organized large-scale events for the Latin Music community, group travel, corporate & community events.   Before moving to South Florida, Jeri spent sixteen years in Washington, DC creating concerts & events; building a community center to provide life-skills & career services for immigrant parents & students and founded The SalsaNews securing top SEO ratings for 10 years.  She is a servant-based leader that can fully align both employment & customer/guest experiences gathering data to assess, develop & deploy the organizational development plan to position for growth & sustainability.

Jenni Stone, SHRM-CP, PHR

Bio:  For more than twenty years, Jenni Stone has been immersed in the Human Resources industry, as a Recruiter, Generalist, HRIS Specialist, Project Manager and HR Advisor. Her experience includes the telecommunications, healthcare and staffing industries.

Jenni holds a Master’s degree in HR Management and is a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR), and SHRM-CP. She is active in a number of professional organizations including Greenville SHRM, where she serves as Communications Director, Association for Talent Development, and Society of Human Resources Management. Jenni continues to share her wealth of knowledge of HR as a frequent speaker at professional human resource meetings and conferences across the US.
