Director, Awards & Recognition
Josie Gonzalez, SHRM-SCP, SPHR 

  Bio: Josie Gonzalez has more than 15 years of progressive human resources experience. She has had the priviledge of working in different industries (hospitality, manufacturing, retail, and  wholesale distribution) and holding various management positions throughout her human resources career. Currently, she is the Vice President of Human Capital at Intradeco, Inc., a wholesaler distributor of finished apparel consumer goods. She began her career with intradeco in 2001 by developing the human resources department from the ground up. She is accountable for HR results in the US operations and partners with the company's overseas operations in developing ongoing executive leadership and succession management programs.


She enjoys mentoring and coaching new HR professionals and those HR professionals in transition. It's a good way of paying it forward as in her career many professionals took their time to work with her. Josie has been involved with GMSHRM for over ten years. She has served on the GMSHRM Board of Directors for the last 3 years. Josie holds a Master's Degree in Human Relations and Business and is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources.

Troy Clements, SHRM-CP, PHR

Bio:  For nearly 20 years, Troy, a Certified HR professional, has partnered with organizations to increase likeability and loyalty within the talent base.  Seeking to understand the employee voice and employee input, he helps companies develop cultures to ensure all voices are heard.  He LOVES change and is excited to walk with organizations through the process.  He served as an HR Florida Conference volunteer from 2012-16 and co-chaired the Volunteer Team in 2017-18.

Ana Swiger, SHRM-SCP, SPHR


Bio:  Ana is a VP, Global Human Resources, for Citibank, the recognized leader in global banking. Citi strives to create the best outcomes for clients and customers with financial solutions that are simple, creative and responsible.   Ana is a bi-lingual HR professional with extensive years of experience in Human Resources, previously with Travelers Insurance and AT&T Universal Card.   

Ana is the current SHRM Foundation Director for HR Tampa as well as serving in the advisory role as the Immediate Past-President.   Actively involved in the Board of Director for HR Tampa, she served as President from 2017 & 2018, as well as serving as Diversity Director, Membership Director and Conference Chair.   She had the pleasure of serving as the HR Florida conference Sponsor Administrator for four years.  Ana holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Nova Southeastern University and a Masters in Business Administration from The University of Tampa, as well as SHRM-SCP and HRCI SPHR certifications.

Katrina (Katie) Piccone Merlini, Ph.D

  Bio:  Katrina (Katie) Piccone Merlini, Ph.D., currently works as an Assistant Professor in Industrial/Organizational (I/O) Psychology and the Academic Chair of the Organizational Leadership MA program at Florida Institute of Technology. Prior to working at Florida Institute of Technology, she worked as a research analyst at Patrick Air Force Base and as a human performance analyst in Orlando, Florida. She obtained her Ph.D. in I/O Psychology from Florida Institute of Technology. She is a member of South Brevard SHRM.

Michele Burns

  Bio:  Michele Burns started her new career at CareerSource Okaloosa Walton as Executive Director in April of 2017.  She previously was in staffing in the Okaloosa –Walton area for over 28 years.  Michele is a native of Okaloosa County and holds a Marketing Degree from the University of West Florida.  Michele has been active in many community events and organizations.  She currently is the Facilities Director for the HR Florida State Board, Diversity Chair for the Emerald Coast Chapter of Society of Human Resources, Vice President of the Okaloosa Public Schools Foundation, Elks Lodge 1795, Early Learning Coalition, Northwest Florida Manufacturing, Opportunity Florida, Co-Chair of Northwest Florida Forward Talent Committee and member of the Panhandle Job Fair.

John Kinloch, SHRM-CP, PHR

Bio:  John Kinloch is a Certified Human Resources expert with more than 25 years of experience in human resource management positions and a history of working on behalf of employees as a union member. For five years John served as District Director for District 5, and currently serves as Registrar.

Jim Gallo, Ph.D, SPHR, SHRM-SCP

Bio:  Jim Gallo is an Organizational Psychologist and HR professional. With 20+ years of leadership experience as a senior executive and management consultant in the field of Human Resources . Jim has worked both within organizations as a senior executive leading multi state operations as well as an external consultant providing customized solutions to organizations. Currently he consults with organizations primarily within the field of HR and OD. Jim also teaches various graduate and undergraduate classes often combining his street theater and improv background into the curriculum. Jim currently serves Research Director for HR Florida State Council.

Director, Social Media

Kate Shockey, MMHRM, SHRM-CP, PHR


Bio: Kate Shockey has a Masters in Human Resource Management and has maintained her professional licensure with both SHRM and HRCI since 2010.  Kate is on the HR Florida State Council as the Director of Social Media and serves on the marketing team for the HR Florida Conference and Expo.  In the local chapter, Volusia/Flagler SHRM, Kate has held the roles as Webmaster, VP of Communications, and is currently the President-Elect for 2019. Working for the Clerk of Circuit Court for Volusia County as the Chief Human Resource Officer, Kate has the opportunity to continue her servant leadership role with a public entity serving the staff and her community with the motto - We Love Helping People.

Wellbeing Director 
Elisabeth Doehring, PHR, GPHR, SHRM-SCP, CWWPM


Bio: Elisabeth A. Doehring is a wellbeing and resilience HR leader. Resilience and wellbeing are her professional and her truly personal experiences. She is a frequent keynote on wellbeing and employee worksite wellness, and has also presented with representatives from Google and Blue Cross Blue Shield. Elisabeth's works and input have been sought out and featured in industry books and publications such as Worksite International Health QuarterlyNational Wellness Institute Newsletter,  HR Florida Review, HR Professionals Magazine, Spirituality & Health Magazine, Miami Herald, Tampa Times, and Tallahasee Democrat

Her ability to direct talent acquisition, employee wellbeing, teams, and marketing is shown in Elisabeth's over two decades within the fields of aerospace, cybersecurity, defense, education, food, healthcare, legal, manufacturing and technology. She has worked with the late Dave Thomas of Wendys and on team projects with professional tennis and NASCAR.


A certified yoga instructor, Elisabeth holds a BA from the University of Alabama and attended Cumberland School of Law. Elisabeth serves as Wellbeing Director for HR Florida State Council, is a member of Greater Pensacola SHRM, and is a Senior Talent Acquisition Leader with Capstone Corporation.

Jenni Stone, SHRM-CP, PHR

Bio:For more than twenty years, Jenni Stone has been immersed in the Human Resources industry, as a Recruiter, Generalist, HRIS Specialist, Project Manager and HR Advisor. Her experience includes the telecommunications, healthcare and staffing industries.

Jenni holds a Master’s degree in HR Management and is a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR), and SHRM-CP. She is active in a number of professional organizations including Greenville SHRM, where she serves as Communications Director, Association for Talent Development, and Society of Human Resources Management. Jenni continues to share her wealth of knowledge of HR as a frequent speaker at professional human resource meetings and conferences across the US.
