Kelly Marcoux, PHR Named HR Florida’s 2015 Volunteer of the Year

Orlando, FL – HR Florida could not be successful without the hard work and support of the volunteer leaders. Volunteer leaders are chapter presidents and board members who make up the HR Florida State Council. The Volunteer of the Year is an annual award that recognizes a volunteer who actively supports, promotes, and develops the human resource profession through volunteerism. The winner is selected by chapter presidents and based on the nominees overall contributions in supporting local chapters, advancing the profession and driving council effectiveness through outstanding approaches, innovative ideas and promotion of the Society and Council.

Kelly Marcoux, Professional in Human Resources (PHR) was named the 2015 Volunteer of the Year yesterday at the HR Florida Council meeting and during the annual conference. Kelly has been a council volunteer since 2009, contributing significantly to the HR Florida State Council through her leadership as a District Director; a role she began in 2010. A District Director provides technical support, leadership and guidance to local Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Throughout her time and service with the Council, she has always embodied the overall mission SHRM and HR Florida to serve the professional and advance the profession.

Kelly has the passion, commitment and servant leader mindset that is the benchmark for all of our volunteers”, said Carol McDaniel, president, HR Florida. “She is and always will be the type of volunteer that allows the HR Florida State Council to be successful in serving the human resource profession.”

Volunteer highlights include:

  • As District Director for North Central Florida, Kelly has assisted her chapters through transitional and political struggles.  Kelly’s calm, organized and deliberate communication style has resulted in a well-planned approach and execution of corrective strategies.
  • For the 2012 – 2014 Leadership Conference, she served as program lead, working tirelessly to bring chapter volunteers the absolute best programming for the annual leadership conference. Year after year she spearheaded the program development and coordinated with other District Directors to bring the most relevant topics, speakers and formatting to the event.

Kelly’s commitment and leadership as a district director qualifies her as the Volunteer of the Year. The HR Florida State Council is proud to honor Kelly Marcoux, PHR with the HR Florida 2015 Volunteer of the Year Award. She is currently Human Resource Director with the City of Bushnell, is a member and past president for the Lake Sumter local SHRM Chapter and resides in Sumter County (Webster).

“I am so honored for this recognition”, said Kelly Marcoux. “As a result of my volunteer work with the Council, I have grown so much both personally and professionally. It is definitely a joy and highlight to be named the HR Florida Volunteer of the Year.”
