Director, College Relations 
Bernie Currie, SHRM-CP, PHR

Bio: Bernie Currie joined the world of Information and Communications Technology two years ago
as the Director of Human Resources for Building Industry Consulting Services International
(BICSI) after leaving a tenured career with Health Service Advisory Group (HSAG), Florida’s
Medicare Quality Improvement Organization. Bernie is the current HR Tampa Director of
Workforce Readiness serves on the Advisory Board of Argosy University and is also a member
of the Florida Society of Association Executives (FSAE) and the Greater Tampa Chamber of
Commerce Military Affairs Council.

Bernie is a United States Air Force veteran with a significant military network and is highly regarded as a leader, speaker and subject matter expert in veteran-to-civilian transition.  He has a diverse HR background and is BICSI’s Affirmative Action Plan Officer and Staff Liaison to BICSI’s Ethics Committee.

Eve Sweeting, MBA, SHRM-CP, PHR 
  Bio:  Eve Sweeting, HR Analyst with Charlotte County Board of County Commissioners, has over a decade of experience as an HR professional in private and public sector organizations. Her current duties include performance management, succession planning, and workforce metrics. She holds an MBA from Florida Gulf Coast University and an MA in Adult Education with a concentration in Human Resource Development from the University of South Florida. Eve is an active member in the HR community having served on the board of Charlotte County SHRM for five years including a term as President in 2012, and completing a two year term on SHRM’s Young Professional Advisory Council (YPAC) in 2013-2014. She is also a proud volunteer for many organizations in her community including Charlotte County Young Professionals, Leadership Charlotte, and Meals on Wheels.

Director, HR Certification
Linda Willey, SHRM-SCP, SPHR


Bio:  Linda Willey, MHR, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, is the Director of HR for Nextran Corporation, with 15 locations spanning three States and 800 employees. Linda has over 15 years of experience in  organizational development, training and development, employee relations, staffing,  compensation, AAP, EEO, and employment law. She holds an MHR from Oklahoma University and graduated magna cum laude from the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida with a BBA in Corporate Finance.   Ms. Willey is an active SHRM volunteer, having served in multiple Chapter volunteer roles, including President of SHRM Jacksonville.  To further serve and advance the HR profession, Linda was selected to be a member of the SHRM Special Expertise Panel responsible for subject matter expertise in the field.  Since 2011, she has volunteered her time to work on the HR Florida State Team in a variety of roles. 

In her spare time, Ms. Willey loves to spend time with her family, horseback riding, training her 3 German Shepherds and quilting.

Director, Legislative Affairs - Federal 
Bob McCormack 


Bio:  Bob McCormack is a Shareholder in the Tampa of Ogletree Deakins. He has been practicing employment law in Florida for over 23 years. Bob has been the Government Affairs chair for his local chapter, Suncoast HR, for the past three years and was previously co-chair of the chapter’s conference committee. He has been named in the publication "Best Lawyers in America" in the categories Labor Law – Management and Employment Law – Management and has been named as one of Florida's "Super Lawyers in the categories “Employment Litigation, Employee Benefits and Professional Liability.” Bob’s recent speaking engagements include presenting for the EEOC in its Miami Technical Assistance Program in June 2013 and for the American Conference Institute’s Seventeenth National Forum on Wage & Our Claims and Class Actions. Bob is looking forward to serving the Council in his inaugural year as the Federal Director of Legislative Affairs.

Amanda A. Simpson, ESQ


Bio: Amanda Simpson is an Associate in the Orlando, Florida, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Ms. Simpson is part of the firm’s class action practice group. Since joining Jackson Lewis P.C., Ms. Simpson has handled a number of class and collective actions including wage and hour claims alleging claims of misclassification and off the clock work. Ms. Simpson has also worked with clients on Department of Labor audits as well as voluntary self-audits as to exemption status of hundreds of positions.

She devotes the majority of her practice to counseling and defending employers regarding employment-related matters. Ms. Simpson’s primary practice includes representing clients on a broad array of employment litigation, including wage and hour disputes, claims of discrimination based on disability, race, age, national origin, sex, retaliation, sexual harassment, wrongful discharge, and breach of contract actions.

While attending law school, Ms. Simpson was a teaching assistant for legal research and writing and began her career by clerking in the area of general commercial litigation. Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, Ms. Simpson practiced commercial litigation in Orlando and South Florida in federal, state, and appellate courts covering a vast number of practice areas, including employment litigation. Ms. Simpson has successful trial experience both in the state and federal court levels and argued in front of the District Court of Appeals.

Olga Otero-Brown, SHRM-CP,PHR
  Bio:  Olga is an HR Director at Allstate Insurance Company one of the largest publicly held personal lines property and casualty insurer in America serving more than 16 million households nationwide.  Founded in 1931, Allstate has been dedicated to protecting customers from life's uncertainties and preparing them for the future for more than 85 years. 

As an HR leader Olga provides strategic counsel and advice to senior executives.  She consults with clients to develop, align and execute talent management strategies to enable business outcomes and has lead enterprise wide change and culture transformation. 

Olga received her undergraduate degree from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, FL.  She is an active member of the HR Association of Palm Beach County (HRPBC) and served as the chapter president in 2007.  Olga served as District Director for the HR Florida State Council in 2015 and 2016.

Director, SHRM Foundation 
Kelly Marcoux, SHRM-CP, PHR 

  Bio:  Kelly Marcoux, SHRM-CP, PHR is the Human Resources Director for the City of Bushnell. In addition to human resources, Kelly  is also the Assistant City Clerk  and holds a (MMC) Master Municipal Clerk certification from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks.  Kelly has been an active member of the HR Florida State Council since 2009.  Serving first as president of the Lake-Sumter SHRM chapter and then as a District Director for District 4, North Central Florida. In 2011 Kelly was named the Southeast District Director of the year by SHRM and in 2015 was the HR Florida Volunteer of the year.

 Director, Workforce Readiness 
Timothy Lambert, SHRM-SCP, SPHR

  Bio:  Tim Lambert, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, has been a human resources professional for over 35 years and a member of SHRM since 1983. He retired in May, 2015, as the Human Resources  Manager of Gulf Power Company in Pensacola, FL, a subsidiary of Southern Company, based in Atlanta, GA. An active volunteer leader, Tim served as President of Greater Pensacola SHRM in 2012 . Additionally, Tim retired in 2010 as a Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve and currently serves as the State Vice-Chairman for North Florida of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) and as the Gainesville/Ocala Area Chairman for ESGR
