Publicize your chapter meetings and/or events via the HR Florida Community Calendar. Send us an email with all the details (Event name, Date, Time & Chapter) and we will get it posted ASAP. We are unable to attach fliers or pictures, instead we link the event back to your chapter’s page where complete event information, map, registration, etc. is located.
We are currently looking for articles and/or professionals who might have an interest in contributing articles focused on any and all aspects of the HR profession for our quarterly HR Florida Review magazine. Don't forget that in edition to our print magazine we also have the online edition for your reference. Please submit your questions and/or interest to firstname.lastname@example.org.
We were delighted to once again participate in SHRM's national Leadership Conference in Washington, DC, November 17 - 19. Over 50 volunteers from HR Florida's 28 chapters from around the state joined State Council volunteers to attend topical sessions ranging from general leadership to tips for expanding chapter membership. Several Florida attendees also attended the national Day on the Hill event sponsored by SHRM's legislative team.

First, congratulations are in order to our state council for being a national finalist for the 2011 SHRM Pinnacle Award.This annual awards program honors the highest achievements in chapters and councils that enhance the development of effective HR management.Our submission was “Meeting the Unique Needs of the HR Executive,” presenting how the council is working to meet the unrequited educational and networking needs of executive level professionals across the state by hosting the premier HR Executive Summit, “Where the Conversation Begins.”While we didn’t win this year, we’re very proud that HR Florida was a finalist – it just shows we’re on top of our game and we’ll get ‘em next year!

This month we showcase HRMA of Southwest Floridaand their "Preparing the Path for Chapter Succession" initiative, something that all chapters should take into consideration as they plan each year.
As 2011 begins to close it is very important to ensure that you provide updated information related to your chapter roster (who is in what position, etc.). Before the year ends, we ask that you please complete your chapter roster and submit to the following. We greatly appreciate your support in this matter.
All chapters need to submit their 2012 board rosters to the Council Secretary at email@example.com. This information will be used to connect Counil Core Leadership Area representatives with their counterparts in each of our 28 Chapters.

Don’t forget to register for the council meeting! The first state council meeting of the 2012 year will be held on Friday, January 6th starting at 7:30am, at the Marriott Renaissance at International Plaza in Tampa. Be sure to travel in the evening before as we have a special council dinner event planned for Thursday night before the council meeting! There will also be a dessert reception hosted by your District Directors Friday evening. Please be sure to register for each of these events via the Council Calendar on the HR Florida website.
