Hello Volunteer Leaders!
Well, we’re all trying to get back on track after the excitement of our record-breaking state conference. I know I logged at least two miles a day just walking around the Rosen Shingle Creek and spending time in the Exhibit Hall, in the concurrent sessions, and at our Tuesday evening entertainment. I would be remiss if I didn’t send out a wholehearted and heartfelt thank you to our 2011 conference team, led by Dana Chatelain, SPHR and Heather Deyrieux, SPHR. It doesn’t need to be said that these individuals worked their collective butts off to bring the best of the best in conference and professional development to the HR professional. Laissez les bon temp roulez!
Thank you too, council members, for joining us in celebration of our HR Professional of the Year, Volunteer of the Year and Chapter Excellence Awards. Check out the rest of the eSource for details regarding this year’s award winners.
A quick reminder: the last council meeting of 2011 will take place on October 21, 2011 at the Marriott Renaissance Hotel in Tampa. More details to follow shortly, but we do hope to have a planning session as a part of the meeting, so please start thinking about things we should be focusing on in 2012.
As you’ve seen from our spectacular state conferences, leadership conferences and council meetings, HR Florida counts on volunteers every day for its continued success. We have long-term, short-term and project-based volunteer opportunities available. If you are interested in serving as a 2012 volunteer leader on the state council or participate in the state conference planning team, please complete the web volunteer form at HR Florida/About Us/Volunteer Opportunities, or click here. We welcome both old and new volunteers, so spread the word! Position descriptions are listed on the Volunteer Opportunities page. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact myself at email@example.com, president-elect Joyce Chastain, SPHR at firstname.lastname@example.org or vice president Carol McDaniel at email@example.com. Each of us would be happy to help you decide what the right fit is for you and your volunteer experience.
Thank you again to our state conference team and council for helping us to shape energetic, educate and engaged HR business professional who have an influence on our field and the organizations we serve.
