Pam Baldwin, SPHR - HR Technology Director
“From your Analytics and Technology Chair”
At the HR Florida State Conference, I was able to interact with technology mavens, superstars, bloggers, and the behind the scene folks that made things possible with their support -- our vendors, conference team, and volunteers. I came away enriched and supercharged, ready to implement some of the stellar ideas I gleaned from the Conference.
Something I've noticed, and I'm sure you have as well -- if anything is changing faster than greased lightning, it is technology. There’s a lot of hype about Social Media, and rightly so because it’s so noticeable. However, the backend of technology, the nuts and bolts so to speak, makes social media and other technologies run smoothly. Naomi Bloom, in her Master's Series on HR Technology, said that HR cannot afford to be mathematically illiterate. Numbers speak -- and speak loudly. Want to become more strategic? Make sure you can extract and present the data your C-Suite needs to make business decisions. Make sure your metrics matter. Your expertise will be indispensable.
