I’ve moved my focus away from surveying into research. There is just so much information available, at times it’s overwhelming. I’m sure you feel that way also when diving into a new area. Although Technology itself isn’t new to me, I have had the opportunity to do a cradle to grave implementation of a new HRIS. What an adventure that was – and still continues to be.
I’ve also been trolling SHRM’s website to begin to develop a resource list for chapters to use in order to begin to reach out to all the HR Analysts we’re not getting to our meetings. So far, I’ve found a number of resources for social media. While this is a very important subject for HR to tackle, it’s not the focus of my responsibilities. I am working on finding and presenting the type of information that would pique the curiosity of those underrepresented but extremely influential HR professionals who many times work very much behind the scenes, but provide us with the analytic and metric/benchmarking information we need to make the HR Department shine.
