You have heard me say that one of SHRM's highest priorities for 2011 focuses on technology. Essentially, we are pledging that the technological connection between SHRM and its members will be second to none. And, members will be able to communicate with us by whatever means they prefer.
We take this commitment seriously and I'm pleased to tell you that the first step of many in that initiative has been taken.
When members told us that they would like to see improvements in our website's search capabilities, we went to work. So, after much effort, we now have a search engine that will address members' expressed concerns. SHRM's website now leverages the power of Google to organize and sort the large volume of content on SHRM.org, making it faster and easier for members to find the information they want.
This improvement is just one of many planned under our Global Enterprise Technology Strategy.
We're studying how to structure online content in a more user-friendly way.
We're working on a new look and feel for the site and on apps for mobile access to its resources. Some have already been launched, including an app to navigate the Annual Conference, an HR Magazine app, a mobile version of the SHRMStore and mobile access to the SHRM online chats.
We'll also be improving more than 230 chapter websites hosted by SHRM, providing easier navigation and better integration with our tools and resources.
More is yet to come, including enhanced utilization of social media. I'll keep you informed. I hope you're as enthused as I am about our team's dedication to meeting the technological expectations of SHRM members.
I look forward to hearing your feedback.
