Increasingly, American companies are setting up operations throughout the world and have aggressively engaged in offshoring, or the outsourcing of work and jobs overseas. As US businesses become more global, human resources issues become more complex. US multinationals must not only comply with several US employment laws that follow their US employees who work abroad, they must comply with very different local labor and employment laws for US citizens and local nationals working in the company’s foreign operations.
